Office Hour

Each early evening (except Wednesday) we hold ‘Office Hour’. More relaxed than its name suggests, some people just drop in for a sociable drink to share the day's experiences with friends, who may have been doing other things. Here you can join up for the following day’s organised walks, Via Ferratas, painting etc. You can browse through maps and ask questions.

If planning an independent itinerary, we will happily help and advise. We can also book other mountain pursuits for you, such as rafting, paragliding, horseriding etc.. It is also ideal for meeting like-minded people in a sociable atmosphere and this can have pleasant repercussions. Often walkers, climbers, Via Ferrata-ists or families will team up for a day out as a result of dropping in. Office Hour is between 6.00 - 7.30pm. In Arabba, come to Café Peter opposite the church. In Corvara, we use the bar at Chalet Bracun. In Pedraces, the bar at Haus Valentin.

Flower Walks, Painting
(& Cooking)
Your stay in the Dolomites will surely be enhanced by our own walkers, Via Ferrata specialists, wildflower enthusiasts and watercolour tutors. Five days a week (not Wednesday or Saturday), they organise wonderful days out and you can join any of them as much or as little as you like at no extra cost. Their presence ensures you can do just as you please, whether you are a Via Ferrata-ist, who would like to try a day's painting or a high level walker, who fancies a stroll with our wildflower expert. Also, see what’s cooking two days a week at Chalet Verena, Corvara.
Simply drop into 'Office Hour' and arrange to take part in whatever takes your fancy. This is what is on offer five days a week to all our guests whether you are staying in Arabba, Corvara or Pedraces:
Moderate Walk

A stunning (occasionally 'Easy') walk for the intermediate walker often through upland meadows and on wooded or riverside trails. Some take place on the easier high level routes. See Low Level Walking in the Italian Dolomites.
High Level / Harder Walk

A more demanding route on the spectacular high level trails in and around the nearby massifs. See High Level Walking in the Italian Dolomites.
Via Ferrata

The choice of two Via Ferrata, one usually more challenging than the other, both exhilaratingly high and unforgettable. See Via Ferrata in the Italian Dolomites.
Wildflower Walks

Walk with our flower expert through vivid pastures and on carefully selected routes where rare species flourish. See Wildflower Walks in the Italian Dolomites.
Painting & Cookery

The friendly tuition of our artists is available to all, whatever your standard. Or try a day’s cooking in Corvara.See Painting & Cookery in the Italian Dolomites.

*Our Day Off in the Dolomites is Wednesday. See Other Information on the Dolomites & South Tyrol.

Ideas & Information Files & Route Laminates
For people who prefer to be independent and do their own thing, on your arrival you can obtain an Ideas & Information File, which will be invaluable to you. It will provide you with easy access to numerous magnificent proposals. In it, we have documented over 30 wonderful high and medium/low level walks, over 20 Via Ferratas, several 'Drives and Days Out', bike rides etc. under headings, such as 'Five Easy Walks', 'Five Classic Via Ferratas', 'Five Ideas for a Rainy Day' etc.
In addition, a Route Laminate corresponds to each of the proposals documented in the Ideas & Information Files. This is a small laminated A5 version of your chosen walk, Via Ferrata etc.,
which you can borrow from us. It is easy to carry and less bulky than the 'I&I' File. It contains the relevant section of map as well as the route description and other useful details. Route Laminates can be borrowed from us either at Office Hour or from our resort offices.
People who would rather do things independently, should also refer to any of the following areas of interest:

Prior to your holiday, we send you a 1:25,000 map of the area and a Guest Handbook (also pictured above) with useful local information, packing suggestions, pre-departure tips, route directions for fly-drivers and self-drivers and much more.
