Luz and Panticosa will provide you with good access to a range of mountain activities and other interesting days out whether you want an adrenalin rush or something more relaxing. Nevertheless, if you intend to visit the various places of interest that are dotted around the region or take part in other activities, having your own independent transport would be recommended.

Mountain bikes can be hired locally in both Luz and Panticosa and we can suggest routes to suit different levels of fitness.
A slower and more sedate way of enjoying the scenery on both the French side and the Spanish side is to go horseriding, which is available from Tramacastilla, Bious-Artigues and the Val d'Azun.

Other activities such as canyoning, rafting and high ropes courses are also available and are only short drives from both villages. Trips to suit all levels of ability can be organised.

Both Luz and Panticosa have outdoor swimming pools, which are open during July and August. The view from the pool in Panticosa is magnificent - see picture bottom right. Both villages are also ideally located near to thermal spas where guests can either enjoy some well deserved rest and relaxation or indulge themselves with a treatment or two.

In addition, from Panticosa guests can enjoy a variety of watersports such as windsurfing and kayaking, take a guided ascent of the Pic du Midi d'Ossau, or try their hand at quad biking; and from Luz guests can take to the skies and go paragliding from Bareges or the villages of the Val d'Azun.
