Thank you letters

I look forward to trying the Dolomites experience with you – and I will certainly recommend the Pyrenees to some friends who have been following our progress with interest! Thank you for a most enjoyable week, and please pass on my thanks to Mary, Emily, Blake and Kelly. They were a great team, and fun to be with. They went the extra ‘mile’ to make sure that we enjoyed ourselves, and their interest in us, as friends as well as clients, was very much appreciated.

An excellent experience from start to finish! As the organiser of a group holiday it was good to know that everything was well planned. The team in Panticosa could not have been more helpful and friendly. Thank you

The staff @ Haus Valentin were very helpful. Lucy and Jenny especially were incredibly helpful and delightful young people to be around. And of course Rainer and his wife, for all their efforts. All the walks organisers were very good at expresing some of the risks involved with the high level activities. Many thanks for all you efforts and for being the first to introduce me to this spectacular mountains, and amazing alpine scenery. I can’t imagine myself booking a holiday with anyone else!

The friendliness and co-operation of all of the staff was the outstanding feature of our stay and we were most impressed with our guide on the flower walk. We will certainly be recommending you to any of our fiends who wish to have such an experience. I know I speak also for Norma & Graham Bush who were with us.

After checking various websites Colletts suited us best. We also liked the flexibility of arrival and departure dates. The website was very informative and implied high standards, which didn’t disappoint. Very good variety of walks offered to suit varied tastes and levels of ability.Informal enough to give us time for photographs with no pressure to be hurried along. Good standards.Sport Hotel tried to cater for all tastes within Italian traditions. We had a fantastic holiday in a beautiful area. Thanks again to your team at Chalet Barbara.

Make sure you keep hold of Alice. Her food is a highlight of Chalet Angelo! Good hosts, low key, very friendly and very helpful staff. We think you have got the balance of everything just right!

The team at Haus Valentin were outstandingly freindly helpful and efficient. A really great team. What really helped here were the efforts of the staff to introduce us to either team members or other guests with first hand experience of the walks we wanted to do. From the moment I phoned in April to book our holiday I felt 100% looked after, our arrival arrangements were not ‘standard’ but you coped in an efficient and freindly manner. After a troublesome winter we were looking for a relaxing and carefree activity holiday. Your brochure offered this and your staff carried it off from beginning to end. Thank you.

We really enjoyed our holiday with Colletts and it’s probably going to be the highlight of our 6 month trip around Europe. Thank you to all the staff!

We could not fault the knowledge and helpfulness of the staff at Arabba. They were all fantastic without exception – a well bounded team that worked well together. We would like to thank the people who helped with out booking and the advise given, as well as the staff in the resort who were fantastic, we can’t praise them enough.

The Colletts staff were approaching sensational. They were everything that we could have asked for and young and beautiful too. They dealt with difficult mixed ability groups remarkably well. They always gave the time it took to sort things out and were unflustered when problems arose. The safety and well being of the party was always paramount. From our point of view they would be difficult to better. They were also great fun and liased well across the age boundaries.
Whilst it’s difficult to single out anyone for particular mention we’d like to commend Alice in Angelo for culinary excellence and good humour above and beyond the call of duty; young Ben, the new kid on the block in Angelo for whom nothing seemed too much trouble, for his enthusiasm and support and sense of humour; and also, from Pedraces, the marvellous Anna who transformed what could have been a disappointing VF day for us into a memorable one. Flower expert Viv also added massively to our enjoyment with her easy way of telling us things and encouraging us to discover. In Angelo at the end of a long day and evening she could still generate enthusiasm to look at flower pics and help identify them. Marvellous dedication.

Our group had a great time in Arabba, completing 4 Via Ferratta and 5 walks between us. Many thanks to Emma, Ryan, Chris and Freya for getting us up those wires and back down the scree slopes – most of us were completely new to VF, but will definitely be back for more!
(I didn’t do the wild flower walk so what kind of orchid it is I don’t know!)

I have just completed your questionnaire but wanted to say a big thank you for all your help, we had a fantastic holiday , it’s a shame it had to end, here’s to next time. Perhaps you could let me have your prices for next year?
Thought I would send a photo of some of us at the top of Piz Boe.

I had an outstanding stay with Collett’s in Arabba. Sport Hotel was really nice; you can’t beat a visit to the spa after a long day hiking. The food was great, too. Your staff was superb. Kudos to Jane, Claire, Emma, Ryan, and Rich. I wish I was still there.
I’ll be back in the winter with my skis.
Having now hiked the pyrenees and dolomites with Collett’s, I hope your organization continues to expand to additional locations in the years ahead.

Just wanted to say a big thanks to all the team at Corvara for making our holiday there such a good one. Special thanks to Dan for organising the requested walk up Sassongher and to Freya for being truly artistic with 2sq foot of tin foil. We particularly liked the Glacier Trek and the walk up Sassongher.(Photos below).

18th July 2010Just a quick note to say thank you to Colletts’ staff for another great holiday in the Dolomites. Special mention goes to Rich for organising the transport for the start of our hut to hut and Emma and Ryan for getting us around vf Oscar Schuster. Transport plans had to be changed due to a bike race that closed the roads for the first of 3 consecutive Sundays.
For this year’s hut to hut, we went to Rif. Sasso Bianco for the first night and then back to Caprile via the summit of Sasso Bianco on the second. What amazing all round views we got from there! We then had 2 nights in Alleghe and explored the lower slopes of Civetta – another exciting new area for us.
When we returned to Arabba, we did a mixture of old and new routes. After so many years, we never get bored and always find something new to do. The highlight of the holiday for Polli was a tandem paraglide from Corvara. She went up to nearly 3000m and looked down on people on the summit of Sassonger.
Can’t wait for Decmber to go back for more!
Once again many thanks.
Regards
Polli and Andrew

Hi Collett’s
I suspect you have lots of pictures of mountains but I think blogs are good places for something a little more light-hearted.
Your Wednesday day off in the Dolomites gave me the opportunity to escape Lorenzo aka “Manuel” from the Arabba Sporthotel evening meal shift, and sample some of the culinary delights in the village. See my picture, taken from a pizza menu. I won’t name the restaurant (there’s a clue in the pic), but to be fair the pizzas there are very good.
Even so, today’s top tip: Don’t eat the green bits.
Great holiday, by the way. I shall be back!
Best wishes

Dear Colletts,
Two weeks have now passed since our trip to the Dolomites, only two weeks, it seems a very distant memory!
We very much enjoyed our stay in Arabba and we had a winter and summer holiday all in the one week! We woke on our second day to a lot of snow but it didn’t stop us from getting a lovely wintry walk done and then the week just got better and better, finishing up with just perfect conditions and scenery.
Thanks to all the Colletts staff we met during our stay they were excellent hosts and walking companions.
Now two weeks have passed and already we think we would like to return next summer and we are considering maybe going for a winter break, to see how the Dolomites look in winter although we did get a little taster of that in the summer.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes
