Secondly, we have a walking holiday in France in the south-east corner of the country that hugs the Mediterranean coast, starting from the quaint harbour town of Collioure, taking walkers south, over the Spanish border to Cadaqués, a walking holiday of ridges, beaches, coves, and vibrant ports – with backdrops provided by the Pyrenean foothills and the blue waters of the Mediterranean.

Day-to-day you can choose between two routes, one of which stays closer to the sea, whilst the alternative allows you to venture into the foothills of the Pyrenees, walking through vineyards and chestnut orchards that boast spectacular panoramic vistas. You reach Cadaques on a beautiful ancient coastal path, lined with stone walls and winding between terraces, where you can enjoy the views of white houses tumbling down to the sea.
